Well looks like across the board, the three boys are of equal standard. Two of our boys made it to Round 2 of the Games yesterday, and that’s encouraging sign.
Gary Yeo finally dip below his personal best of 10.67 seconds, running 10.66 seconds in Round 1, and 10.75 seconds in Round 2.
While Amirudin Jamal was consistent in both his races of Round 1 and 2. He was clocked 10.63 and 10.64 seconds respectively.
Md. Elfi was pitted in a tough Round 1 heat, and he finished in a time of 10.73 seconds, a far-cry from his season best of 10.56 seconds, but I believe more is to come from this fella.
Now the boys will focus on their next race, the 4x100m relays. They’ve still five days until race-day, which is on the 11th October, Monday.
They’re in fine form now, and I’ll boldly predict and wouldn’t be surprise if they run a sub-40 seconds.
So let’s give them all the support, and encouragement.
Send your well-wishes to Gary Yeo, Elfi Mustapa, Amirudin Jamal, Calvin Kang and Lee Cheng Wei.
