For Team Singapore

From Training & Selection

Dear Coaches & Athletes,

SAA just received a letter of invitation from Asian AA to send our best athletes for the 2012 ASIAN GRAND PRIX SERIES from 8-14 May 2012 in Thailand.

SAA is keen to send athletes there to compete and we have to submit our nomination by 12th March 2012 for the consideration of the Asian Grand Prix Commission.

SAA will nominate athletes based on the following criteria:

  1. All 2011 SEA Games Medalists whose events are contested and are ready to compete in the 3 legs for this meet
  2. Anyone whose performance for 2012 falls within 2% of 2011 SEA Games 3rd placing mark (using IAAF points to calculate the 2%) and whose events are contested and are ready to compete in the 3 legs.
  3. Must be ready to compete and commit to compete in all 3 legs of the competition. (The penalty for not completing the series without valid reasons, is full payment of board and lodging)
  4. Must be able to travel from 6/7 May – 15/16 May

As silver medalists at the 2011 SEA Games the men’s 4 x 100m relay team will also be included. We shall announce the selection criteria and training for relay team very soon.

SAA will update the performance results after SAA series 3 and if any athlete meets the entry criteria, SAA will send a personal invitation to confirm participation. We will then submit names to Asian AA for final confirmation

If you have any questions, please feel free to call 6563862721 or contact us.

All the best and keep training hard.
