Our 4x100m relays boys yesterday jet-off to India for the Commonwealth Games. The five are Gary Yeo, Md. Elfi Mustapa, Amirudin Jamal, Calvin Kang, and Lee Cheng Wei, plus the national relays coach Melvin Tan.
They will be in New Delhi for the next 12 days as they try to improve their ground speed for which they’re sorely lacking currently.
Their target is of course a personal best, and we’re hoping they’ll improve their national mark of 39.82 seconds set at the last SEA Games.
So far this season, the team has been plagued by injuries but the coach was optimistic as on the competition day itself, it’s all based on current form, and it is anyone’s race.
Our boys will be racing on the 11th of October, 7.20pm local time. Do us proud!
