Amendments to the selection criteria publish on Nov 9

Dear Coaches and athletes,

We received feedback from some on you regarding the selection criteria for the qualifying requirement for all the major competition for selection that was publish on Nov 9 and we took notice of your comments and feedbacks and will amend the changes accordingly.

The previous statement on all the 4 major competition on the qualifying criteria says:

There are 3 phases during the qualifying period.

Any athlete keen to be selected for the said event needs to compete in at least 1 of the competitions from each phase to be considered eligible (total 3 results).

Time/Distance/Height recorded from the event will be converted into IAAF 2011 scoring points and all events will be cross-ranked. The athlete’s points and positioning will be monitored for consistency in performance throughout the season to be considered for final nomination.

If there is a tie, then the final phase competition results will be used for the final nomination.

The New amendment for the statement will be:

Qualifying requirement for Overseas Meets:

There are 3 competition phases during the qualifying period with several options of Meets.

Any athlete who is keen to be selected for a particular event in a particular oversea Meet, needs to compete in 1 Meet from 2 of the 3 competition phases to be considered for an overseas Meet.

Any results from any of the 3 phases can be used for nominating athletes for the Overseas Meet. Time/Distance/Height recorded for the event will be converted into IAAF 2011 scoring points and all athletes will be cross-ranked. The athlete’s points and position will be monitored for consistency in performance throughout the season for final nomination.

If there is a tie, then the results of the final phase (phase 3) competition will be used for the final nomination.
