SINGAPORE, 14 January 2015: The Singapore Athletic Association (SAA) can confirm that we have received Asmah Hanim’s resignation and her last day with the Association will be 29 March 2015.
Having served as the Chief (Sports Development & Performance) since her appointment in April 2014, Asmah cited that it was due to personal reasons that she has to leave her post.
Mr Tang Weng Fei, President of SAA, in appreciation of Asmah’s contributions said, “Asmah has tendered her resignation citing personal reasons and we respect her decision. We would like to thank Asmah for her services rendered to SAA and we wish her well in her future endeavours.
As for our SEA Games preparations, we are pleased with the progress thus far, and SAA will continue to ensure adequate support is given to athletes as we enter the final phase of our preparations.
Moving forward, we also have in place a few key initiatives that will be announced in the coming months that will see Singapore athletics move in the right direction”
National athlete, Dipna Lim-Prasad added, “Asmah has contributed a lot of her experience to Singapore Athletics and always took time out to advice the younger athletes.
As for the lead up to the 2015 SEA Games, I am focused on my final phase of preparations and am excited at the prospects of performing to the best of my abilities in front of a home crowd. We will continue to train hard and put up a good showing on home soil.”
