Career Highlight(s): – Gold medallist at National Inter- schools track and field competition from year 2013 to 2015.
– 6th position at ASEAN School Games 2013
– 5th position at ASEAN School Games 2014

Q) What are your hopes, dream and target this SEA Games?

To get a new personal best.

Q) How’s your preparation for the SEA Games?

Quite challenging to balance school and trainings but it’s manageable so far. Injuries are okay too with physio.

Q) What are some of the biggest challenges in your sports career so far leading to SEA Games and your athletics career?

Several injuries sustained throughout my sports career slowed my progress and did challenge my mindset but all’s good.

Q) How did you specialise in your particular event? Why this event, what’s the attraction?

Back in secondary one when we were having trials for a CCA and I was part of the group selected for throws. Javelin’s fun cause you get to be able to run, jump and throw.

Q) Who is your coach, tell us more about him/her. Also a mention of your previous coaches.

Coach Guo Huai Yun from HCI – he doesn’t speak much but provides concise tips. Mr Ng from Cedar Girls’ who goes all out to prepare and take care of us physically and mentally.

Q) Do you take care of your nutrition and diet? Your opinion on supplements and food.

Try to eat healthy and everything in moderation. But also good to just eat what you want.

Q) Aside from athletics, what else interest you? You could say the other part of your life beyond athletics.

Baking.

Q) How do you fit in your training/competing with your family and studies/work?

Don’t waste spare time. As long as it’s something we really want, it’ll be able to fit in somehow.

Q) Share with the readers, some aspects of your training regime.

5x gym sessions + physical training p/week, 3/4x throws session, 1 recovery day

Q) What are your long term athletics goals?

To improve both physically and mentally. And continue to have the passion for sports.

Q) What advice do you have for young aspiring athletes?

Never give up no matter how hard things may seem. And always keep faith in yourself :-)
