Greetings from Singapore Athletics,
Hello Runners,
Ironman Asia and Singapore Athletics will host the Singapore Open National Championships at the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon which will take place from 29 Nov- 1 Dec. The Under-23 (U-23) Championships category will be added for the marathon. The new category gives Singapore’s next generation of marathoners an opportunity to compete at a high level. The U-23 Championships will feature Singapore’s top distance runners aged 18 to 22 (Check out the supporting article).
Also for the first time ever, Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) runners will enjoy an elevated race experience with its Marathon, Half Marathon and TOYOTA Ekiden categories flagging off at 6pm on Saturday evening, 30 Nov 2019.
There is truly no experience that would come close to this, with over 95% of the race taking place on fully closed roads on a Satuday evening in Singapore – just for you.
Watch the city come to life at night as you race through iconic landmarks attractions such as the magical Supertree at Gardens by the Bay and the Merlion, before crossing the Finish line against Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay skyline.
This is, and will be, truly an experience like no other.
As part of the SCSM’s ambition and goal to be inducted into the renowned Abbott World Marathon Majors, a series of the largest and most prestigious marathons in the world, the race will see over 26 entertainment points on route, and spectator zones to encourage friends and families of the runners to be a part of the weekend running festival.
