17-year-old Kampton Kam (DOB March 2001) last weekend at the ASEAN School Games jumped 2.10 meters in the men high jump event.

He erased the U20 and U18 record which was held previously by Wayne Yap (2.08m, achieved in 2009 at Negeri Sembilan Open).

Kampton also erased SA archived U23 and U19 men high jump record, the U23 record was previously held by Ronnie Cai (2.08m, achieved in 2004, Singapore at SAAA 1st AllComers).

He is ranked 3rd in Singapore all-time list for men high jump behind Wong Yew Tong’s 2.22m (1995 SEA Games) and Nor Azahar Hamid 2.12m (1973 SEA Games) effort.

He is coached by Yu Long Nyu.

The record is pending ratification by SA.
