Singapore Athletics Kids’ Athletics Programme by Club Zoom
Created by World Athletics, Kids’ Athletics (“KA”) is intended to make Athletics educational and exciting for children. Our KA Programme aims to achieve this by focusing on being participant-centric. Through a series of fun and innovative activities, we hope to help our kids discover a love for sports and embrace an active lifestyle.
Objectives
For children of all sporting abilities to develop fundamental movements and the basic skills of running, jumping and throwing through fun and challenging activities. This experience will also build team-building and social interaction skills.
Benefits of participating
The benefits of the Kids Athletics programme are:
- To let kids try out a variety of basic movements found in athletics
- To reinforce their fundamental movement and skills through a progressive increase in intensity of games and activities
- To promote team events in which everyone contributes to the games, providing social interaction while
learning team work - To offer competition opportunities to motivate and stimulate their excitement to play
- To allow the children to discover their interest and potential ability in sports
- To encourage the children to play and take part in physical activities for a healthier lifestyle

Note:
If your child is getting vaccinated, please be reminded:
Your child should avoid strenuous physical activities for 14 days after each vaccination. Seek medical attention immediately, if they experience chest pain, shortness of breath or abnormal heart beats.

We will allow for session replacement within the term:
Please inform our coaches and apply for the replacement session if the child is undergoing vaccination during this period.
Example: If week 3 training missed due to vaccination, your child can apply for replacement session and come twice a week after 14 days. The subsequent week will then resume to once a week training.
You can schedule these replacement sessions before the vaccination date too if you already know the date of vaccination.
Please also note that these replacement sessions are not going to be covering what they miss if they come the following week as there is a curriculum developed per training session. Your child however should still be able to adapt and learn accordingly in the sessions

Kids’ Athletics uses the power of athletics to inspire children and young people (aged four to 14 years), wherever they are, to be more active, develop their skills and confidence, and to connect with the sport for life. Built around four key values, Kids’ Athletics encourages: respect, determination, friendship and pride.
Kids’ Athletics is one of the biggest grassroots development programmes in the world of sport. It offers a fresh and modern take on athletics for children and young people. Building on the strengths of the existing programme, Kids’ Athletics has been refreshed in 2021 and includes a range of activity ideas to build fundamental movement skills and athletics-specific skills.
We believe that every child is born to move, to play, to explore. We also believe that every child, no matter where they are, no matter their individual circumstances, has the fundamental right to have access to sport.
Join us to create a movement that puts children and young people at the heart of athletics and athletics at the heart of community health and fitness as they become lifelong participants and fans of the sport.
