A new year a new partnership
Singapore Athletics latest collaboration with Kin Teck Tong Pte Ltd
26 December 2015 – Kicking off into the New Year, Singapore Athletics (SA) will be collaborating with a local home-grown Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) company Kin Teck Tong Pte Ltd (KTT) to provide support for Singapore Athletics’ events and national team. The partnership will be sealed on 28 December, 12.30pm, in a ceremony at Kin Teck Tong’s newly opened medical centre at the Kallang Wave Mall #02-06, located at the Singapore Sports Hub.
SA will appoint KTT as its Exclusive TCM Partner to sponsor TCM services to SA’s athletes and events, in a manner that is mutually beneficial to both parties. These athletes and participants of SA’s events will be able to seek treatments with KTT’s team of qualified in-house physicians and trained therapists. The value of the partnership is estimated to be worth $280,000 per annum.
Through this partnership, TCM healthcare is now readily accessible to our national athletes who will be able to benefit from KTT’s team of professionals in sports injury treatment. Both parties hope to promote the general well-being of our national athletes using a modernised TCM approach that is tailored to their individual condition.
Mdm Coco Zhang, Executive Director of Kin Teck Tong, said, “Our national athletes go through rigorous training and this often result in intense muscle sprains and strains. Our newest branch at the Singapore Sports Hub is complete with modern facilities that can be fully integrated with our TCM treatments. Through our partnership with Singapore Athletics, we are able to provide sports injury treatment in a location that is convenient to these athletes. It is also our way of giving back to the society.”
Mr Tang Weng Fei, President of Singapore Athletics said, “We are always looking out for new opportunities to partner with forward looking companies in the holistic care of our athletes and other sports participants. Being an athlete-centric organisation, we hope to continuously provide value add to our stakeholders within the athletics fraternity.”
The partnership will initially be for a period of one year from 1 Jan 2016 to 31 Dec 2016.
