ANG CHEN XIANG TO REPRESENT SINGAPORE IN ATHLETICS IN SERBIA FOR THE 18TH WORLD ATHLETICS INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS 2022
Singapore – Singapore Athletic Association (SA) announced today that hurdler Ang Chen Xiang has accepted the universality place and will represent Singapore at the 18th World Athletics Indoor Championships 2022.
World Athletics’ qualification system states that Member Federation with no male or female qualified athlete or relay team will be allowed to enter their best ranked male athlete or their best ranked female athlete in one athletic event, with the exception of the 800m.
Ang Chen Xiang was selected as the nominated universality entry with the highest athletes points in accordance with SA’s selection criteria. He will be competing in the men’s 60m hurdles event. He is the current national men 110m hurdler record holder with a timing of 13.97s (+1.5 m/s) from the 2022 SA National Championships.
He is coached by Ang Ding Hui.
