Theme and Objectives

Race walking is easy and fun, good for everyone, young and old.

Understand the biomechanics, learn the proper technique, train and walk like a champion.

Attendance

Anyone and everyone, especially for those involved in schools’ sports at all levels, from primary to university, Coaches, PE Teachers and Students, the serious and the curious.

No qualification is required.

Free of Charge

Programme:

    4.30 – 5.00pm Welcome Tea Party and Address by President Mr. Ho Mun Cheong

    5.00 – 5.45pm Biomechanics in Race Walking
    Presenter: Dr. John Tan, Senior Lecturer Track NTU

    5.45 – 6.00pm Q & A

    6.00 – 6.45pm Race Walking Technique and Training Methods
    (Audience participation welcome in the demonstration – dress suitably)
    Presenter: Mr. V Subramaniam (Former Chief Coach Race Walking Malaysia)

    6.45 – 7.00pm Q & A

    7.00 – 7.30pm Presentation by Mr. Edmund Sim, Singapore record holder (20km walk) and most travelled walker.

    7.30 – 8.00pm Presentations by past SEA Games medal winners
