Dates: 5 weeks from 4th June to 17th July 2021

Venue:

• Kallang Practice Track (Practical sessions)
• NSA office at Sports Hub (Theory in classroom)

Course Fee:

• $600 – For all
• $400 - Only for full-time students below 21 years old with valid student pass
• For this 12th intake, there is no SkillsFuture subsidy. SA is working towards to secure this subsidy for the next intake

Course Duration:

• 12 days
• Compulsory to attend the full 12-day course as per the World Athletics requirements.

Course capacity:

• 24pax
• SA will not replace the participant slot, who withdraw after the final list of participants is announced

Selection guidelines

All applicants must meet the basic entry requirements to be considered for the course.

If you do not meet the basic entry requirements, you will not be shortlisted for the course.

Course requirements by Singapore Athletics:

• Be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Have a minimum of a completed Primary school education.
• Have an interest in athletics.
• Must be physically fit and able to learn to demonstrate all athletic events.
• Must be willing to actively involve himself or herself as a qualified coach and to assist the WA Member Federation in the development of athletics.
• Be able to speak and read the course language sufficiently well to sit a written and practical examination.
• Compulsory to attend all classes punctually and throughout the duration of the course (Compulsory to attend the full 12-day course as per the WA requirements).

Where there are more than 24 applicants who meet the above basic entry requirements, the SA selection panels (SA VP Training & Selection and SA High-Performance Manager) will shortlist applicants based on the following selection guidelines:

Singapore Athletics will prioritize selection of the below for this course:

• Singapore citizen
• Local Singapore Track & Field Athletics Coaches who have interest in serving/have served the Federation in the development of athletics
• Current Track & Field Athletics coaches without new/current 2016 WA certification (Please forward support letters from current school/organisation),
• Kids Athletic and Certified Athletics Coaches from Non-WA systems,
• Former National Athletes,
• * Relevant documents (certificates, referral letters etc.) must be accompanied together with your application form

NROC membership requirements by SportSG:

• Functional Sports Science (FSS) or been granted BSS waiver. (Exempted if they have relevant qualification e.g., Sports Science diploma/degree, please clarify with CoachSG). Those without FSS certificate are allowed to register for this course.
• Valid standard first aid with AED certificate. (Those without first-aid certificate are allowed to register for this course)
• Values and Principles in Sports (Those without Values and Principles in Sports certificate are allowed to register for this course)

Your certificate

WA CECS Level 1 Coaching Course certificate will only be awarded once the participant has:

• Proof of 15 hours of coaching practice
• Must be completed within 1 year of course end date, 16 Jul, Sat 2022

Payment Information

Applications without payment will not be considered complete.

Participants final list are announced 18 May Tue and is given 2-days (20 May, Thu) to complete the payment, or their slot will be given the next ranked participant.
