1. General Information
- Singapore Athletics (SA) intends to nominate and recommend athletes to the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) for selection for the 19th Asian Games 2022. This is subjected to Singapore’s Covid-19 measurements, if any.

3. Qualifying Period

- Qualifying period will be from 1 August 2021 to 28 May 2023, up to appeal deadline.
(Sanctioned meets & results established under legal wind speed condition will only be accepted)

5. Individual events
- A maximum of two athletes for each individual event
6. Team events
- One team for each relay event. Six athletes (including 2 substitutes) may be entered for each relay
7. Eligibility for nomination
-
- • Athlete must be a Singapore Citizen and should not be holding dual citizenship if they are above 21 years old, at the time of nomination.
• Meeting the qualifying mark does not guarantee selection. Final decision on selection will be made by SNOC, as the body that sets the qualification criteria and makes the final selection of athletes for the Games.
• Athletes will be required to compete at any identified competitions for fitness and performance monitoring at least 5 months before competition dates. These will include SA organized competitions or any other sanctioned competitions.
• It is the responsibility of the athlete and coach to ensure athlete is ready to compete at a competitive level for Team Singapore. SA reserves the right to drop any athlete if the athlete is deemed unfit/injured to perform at a competitive level.
• All qualification attempts are to comply with World Athletics shoe regulations.

9. Relay Selection (4x100m and 4x400m)
-
- For the selection of the relay runners including the reserves, SA may organise races for the athletes in the relay training squad to compete together under the same race conditions. The relay athlete’s selection will also require supporting qualification results from sanctioned meet as a Team of 4 to be considered for selection, as the datapoints supports there is a history of the Team of 4 racing as a team and are capable of achieving a smooth baton passing. The National Relay Coach will recommend to SA the final athletes for SA’s nomination based on the quota provided by organizers.
The decision to select the final 4 athletes to race will be decided by the National Relay Coach prior to reporting to the Call Room.
Athletes selected in final, will be required to (Unless with valid & approved reasons for absence):

- i. Attend all Team Trainings, Briefings and Camps

ii. Compete at any identified competitions for fitness and performance monitoring
SA reserves the right to drop any athlete if the athlete is deem unfit/injured to perform at a competitive level.
10. Relay Coach Selection:

11. 5000m, 10000m, Marathon and 20km Race Walking events:

- i. No 5000m and 10000m road races results will be accepted, exception for the marathon & 20km racewalk.
ii. World Athletics marathon certified route and racewalking certified route will be used to check if the route is valid for the results to be considered, as non-certified routes does not comply with the drop in elevation.
iii. Marathon & 20km Race Walking athletes are to comply with World Athletics shoe regulations during their qualification attempt.
